Who cares. Anyway, this is a pretty badass little collection of laid-back instrumental beats that will without a doubt bring Dilla and Madlib to mind, but they've got a uniquely smooth sound of their own.<br /><br />I discovered Letherette through Kutmah's <span style="font-style: italic;">The New Error, Vol. 1, </span>a mix that's part of a series that melds both classic and unreleased tunes ranging from modern beatmakers to old dub and soul into long, seamless tracks. I wholeheartedly recommend checking out both volumes, as they're rife with awesome hidden gems from across the ages, and the mixes work almost like standalone songs themselves.<span style="color: rgb(255, 204, 255);"><br /><br /><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">immense beat:<br /><iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/TN3YJ6WiywQ" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" width="420"></iframe><br /><br /><a href="http://www.mediafire.com/?ykpwxc1z9idk7dc">kosz</a><br /></span></span>iranscamhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16684606152910573858noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8781216943000648042.post-80683214293951252392012-04-08T09:33:00.003-07:002012-04-08T09:45:42.292-07:00The Dillards - Wheatstraw Suite<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://991.com/newGallery/The-Dillards-Wheatstraw-Suite-382646.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 380px; height: 398px;" src="http://991.com/newGallery/The-Dillards-Wheatstraw-Suite-382646.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><br />The Dillards were a bluegrass quartet that often incorporated country rock and baroque pop elements into their music, and as a result sounded a lot more like a mix of Rubber Soul-era Beatles (there's a wonderful bluegrass arrangement of "I've Just Seen A Face") and The Flying Burrito Brothers than your traditional bluegrass outfit. Clocking in at just under 28 minutes long, <span style="font-style: italic;">Wheatstraw Suite</span> doesn't leave much room for bullshit, and as every single track on this is gold, it's easy to breeze through this three times in a row without losing interest. I'm listening to this as I write this up, and I really don't understand how this group didn't take off. The sound created on this album should have had massive staying power in pop music in the 60's-70's.<br /><br /><a href="http://rapidshare.com/files/437117406/wheatstrawsuite.zip">thinkimgettinold</a>iranscamhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16684606152910573858noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8781216943000648042.post-78498018703090648222012-03-28T19:24:00.003-07:002012-03-28T19:39:17.227-07:00Bobb Trimble - Iron Curtain Innocence<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://i.ytimg.com/vi/iPnaqCmiTpg/0.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 464px; height: 348px;" src="http://i.ytimg.com/vi/iPnaqCmiTpg/0.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><br />okay before I even say anything about this guy's music:<br /><br /><a href="http://mediamaterials.files.wordpress.com/2011/09/eric_harris.jpg?w=450"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 274px;" src="http://mediamaterials.files.wordpress.com/2011/09/eric_harris.jpg?w=450" alt="" border="0" /></a><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_lSQSXGlRtJA/RyY6aA5u4_I/AAAAAAAAACY/aXw5c8dZMAs/s320/iron+curtain+innocence_0003.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 317px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_lSQSXGlRtJA/RyY6aA5u4_I/AAAAAAAAACY/aXw5c8dZMAs/s320/iron+curtain+innocence_0003.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><br />Aside from looking like the coolest Columbine shooter, Trimble creates really bizarre, dark synth-laden pyschedelic folk/pop. The result is this badass live CD of the two performing experimental arrangements of traditional Celtic folk music with a few nice studio cuts from each separate act tacked on at the end. Seriously. It's two of the best neofolk musicians playing celtic folk, you know you're interested.<br /><br /><br /><a href="http://www.mediafire.com/?tzx1ydyzk4m">bop</a>iranscamhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16684606152910573858noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8781216943000648042.post-74953753560719512252011-09-26T18:28:00.000-07:002011-09-26T18:55:24.820-07:00Scott Tuma - Peeper / Love Songs Loud & Lonely<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.technodisco.net/img/tracks/s/scott-tuma/2467127-scott-tuma-peeper--love-songs-loud-and-lonely.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 312px;" src="http://www.technodisco.net/img/tracks/s/scott-tuma/2467127-scott-tuma-peeper--love-songs-loud-and-lonely.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><br />Scott Tuma, former half of the Souled American duo, puts out some quality Americana-tinged folk dronish ambient stuff. In fact, I think this 2010 cassette might be the best thing he's ever created so far. The <span style="font-style: italic;">Peeper </span>side of this is composed of 5 worn, lo-fi, nostalgic ambient pieces, which are all fantastic and noteworthy by themselves, but the real deal is the second side, one 26-minute monster <span style="font-style: italic;">Love Songs Loud & Lonely.</span> It shifts between distinct movements, spanning from ethereal lo-fi folk to noisy dark ambient to ominous bell-heavy grooves and everything in between. The atmosphere almost always rests at the two extremes of "oh my god im gonna cry this is so pretty!" and "fucking horrifying." The last 4 minutes might be the single prettiest thing I 'er heared though for real.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.mediafire.com/?ljw063s5sa5fk3m">sogood</a>iranscamhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16684606152910573858noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8781216943000648042.post-76633942157723280942011-09-22T17:26:00.000-07:002011-09-26T22:12:00.581-07:00David Allan Coe - Longhaired Redneck<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://npknet.com/images/Jackvynil/0920albums083.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 386px; height: 374px;" src="http://npknet.com/images/Jackvynil/0920albums083.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><br />Looks like Merle Haggard and sounds a lot like David Allan Coe. A friend of mine showed em to me the other day and said he heard them called "backwoods, inbred redneck sludge." Yep. It's filthy as fuck. Natty-drenched vokills and grushin riffs. This shit is ridikolus. Seriously recommended for fans of Eyehategod, Noothgrush, Grief, etc.<br /><br />Oh yeah and there's some Möse tracks on here too whodathunkit. They're pretty solid Belgian sludge featuring members of Kiss The Anus of a Black Cat, Neuthrone, and Thee Plague of Gentlemen. Not that I've ever heard any of them. But yeah.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.4shared.com/file/233684540/4e98ad8c/HMM_Sep_Sludge_Swamp.html">grsh</a>iranscamhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16684606152910573858noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8781216943000648042.post-64706906089207713012011-03-21T09:20:00.001-07:002011-03-21T09:29:24.436-07:00Living Torch - Black Bile<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-LaE35PCeRWY/TYd6yJG8mEI/AAAAAAAAAEU/x2P_5jPFI9s/s1600/Black%2BBile%2BCover.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 360px; height: 397px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-LaE35PCeRWY/TYd6yJG8mEI/AAAAAAAAAEU/x2P_5jPFI9s/s400/Black%2BBile%2BCover.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5586568864633493570" border="0" /></a><br />The latest free Living Torch release. However, it's much more than simply psychedelic soul. Otis melds together funk, r&b, soul, jazz, and psychedelic pop together effortlessly, and the results are fantastic. The instrumentation is immaculate as Otis shows off his multi-instrumental talents, and his songwriting is definitely up there with soul greats like Stevie Wonder and Curtis Mayfield. Songs like "Strawberry Letter 23," "Aht Uh Mi Hed," and the title track display his prowess in crafting intelligent, catchy pop tunes with lush instrumentation while the album is peppered with relaxed instrumental compositions like "Rainy Day" and "Pling!" So kick back and chill to sum Shug.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.mediafire.com/?mvmneojinzj">gruv</a>iranscamhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16684606152910573858noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8781216943000648042.post-77036844131673846132011-02-28T09:55:00.000-08:002011-02-28T10:03:09.513-08:00Gary Higgins - Red Hash<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41EnmxGcyuL._SS400_.jpg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 400px;" src="http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41EnmxGcyuL._SS400_.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><br /><br />Red Hash is a lo-fi psychedelic folk album by singer/songwriter Gary Higgins. The music found on this album sounds a lot like if Karl Blau and Six Organs of Admittance (Chasny cites Higgins as a huge influence) recorded an album together. Very few copies of the album were printed initially, as Higgins recorded the album knowing he was about to go to prison on drug charges. Because of the aformentioned Ben Chasny, however, Higgins is starting to enjoy some amount of acclaim.<br /><br /><br /><a href="http://sharebee.com/867d254a"><span style="text-decoration: underline;">DL</span></a>Glomphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15696579122502205393noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8781216943000648042.post-77778438032489854812011-02-22T10:40:00.000-08:002011-02-22T10:46:36.259-08:00Haruomi Hosono - Tropical Dandy<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://d21uwzfkfy2yiv.cloudfront.net/haruomi_hosono_tropical_dandy-GW-4012-1257589431.jpeg"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 390px; height: 390px;" src="http://d21uwzfkfy2yiv.cloudfront.net/haruomi_hosono_tropical_dandy-GW-4012-1257589431.jpeg" alt="" border="0" /></a><br />Hawaiian music-obsessed Japanese pop artist creates an album chock full of some of the catchiest and best arranged/produced ditties around.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.mediafire.com/?qxtg3nz2ydj">choochoo</a>iranscamhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16684606152910573858noreply@blogger.com1
