Lee Hazlewood - Cowboy In Sweden

60's pop country with pleasant touches of psychedelia. So classic. I don't really listen to this genre much or really know anything about it so I can't compare it to anything, but this album is immediately endearing.

Wixel - Somewhere Between The Sun And The Moon

A stunning mix of lo-fi folk and ambient electronics. Don't know what else to say to make this more enticing 'cept this shit just plain rules.

Joao Gilberto - Joao Gilberto

Joao Gilberto's "white album" is not only the best bossa nova album ever, but simply one of the best albums in any genre that music has to offer. In(un?)disputably the most relaxing album I've ever heard. I've seen someone describe it as sounding like Gilberto himself walked off the streets into your house to play a few songs for you in your living room, except he's playing so softly and calmly so as to not wake a sleeping baby in the next room. That's probably a more accurate description than anything I can come up with. If you're one of the zero people reading this blog, get this. You don't have to be a fan of bossa nova or even jazz to dig this. Seriously. It's worth the ludicrous rapidshare wait time (cuz that's the only link I could find).

Master Musicians Of Bukkake - The Visible Sign Of The Invisible Order

Awesome droney psychedlic folk. It basically sounds like a meeting point exactly between Six Organs of Admittance and Sun City Girls (bizarre tribal chanting included). Also, band name should make one want this.

Mark McGuire - A Pocket Full Of Rain

Solo output from the guitarist of Emeralds. Also one sick baseballer. Super-chill.

The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble - Here Be Dragons

Album's a pretty awes fusion of jazz, electronica, and dark ambient. That should be all you need to know because there's no way a fusion of those genres could not be fantastic.

Salome - Salome

Salome's self-titled debut LP. Saw this band at Scion Rock Fest without any prior knowledge of them and was blown away. Crushing sludge/doom from a band with no bassist and a female vocalist (don't worry, no ultra-retarded power metal cleans here). Recently did a split with Thou. Also, Kat (vox) is currently doing co-vox with Agoraphobic Nosebleed.
