Fast as shit NY grind in the vein of Discordance Axis except crustier. Produced by Colin Marston (Byla, Krallice, etc. etc.). If "Maruta" don't make you mosh your keyboard, nothin will. Yeah. This shit rules.

This is a project headed by Trey Spruance (ex-Mr. Bungle) that is probably better than Mr. Bungle all-around :X This album combines Morricone-esque movie soundtracky stuff with a variety of genres, including classical, electronica, Middle-Eastern folk, grind, surf, doom, and rockabilly, and each genre is done in top form. Where this differs from Mr. Bungle is that most of this is instrumental (some grushin' vox on the grind tracks) and the genre-meshing is done more smoothly than Bungle's.

This is easily the best album to come out of the Chapel Hill indie scene, easily the best album of the lesser known 90's grungy indie albums, and one of the best albums of the 90's in general. Tracks range from short and catchy singles to fuzzed-out punk songs all with varying degrees of Youth-inspired noisy guitar layering and emotional songwriting. Superchunk can go eat a big ol dick. jk ily2 superchunk
