Letherette - 2010 EP


British hip-hop duo that I can't find much about because I haven't looked for anything. Who cares. Anyway, this is a pretty badass little collection of laid-back instrumental beats that will without a doubt bring Dilla and Madlib to mind, but they've got a uniquely smooth sound of their own.

I discovered Letherette through Kutmah's The New Error, Vol. 1, a mix that's part of a series that melds both classic and unreleased tunes ranging from modern beatmakers to old dub and soul into long, seamless tracks. I wholeheartedly recommend checking out both volumes, as they're rife with awesome hidden gems from across the ages, and the mixes work almost like standalone songs themselves.
